Some Accomplishments

Designed, developed and tested various home appliances including refrigerators, disposers, dishwashers, clothes washers, and dryers.
Participated in the development of spark ignition gas control valve for clothes dryers and sold these valves to a major appliance manufacturer.
Participated in the development and promotion of a vacuum control system for appliances.
Developed the first performance standards for home laundry equipment which are now American National Standards. Introduced these standards to the international standards community.
Developed the first national plumbing (sanitation) standards and national approvals system for clothes washers, dishwashers, garbage disposal units.
Developed garment label language for fabric care at President Lyndon Johnson’s invitation, attended signing of the Flammable Fabrics Act at the White House.
In conjuction with textile manufacturers, developed washing and drying cycles to accommodate the second and current generation of durable no-iron garments.
Developed with the National Bureau of Standards Energy Labels for Appliances which are now required by law.
Directed the development of safety standards that have enhanced safety for the users of many home appliances, air-conditioning and refrigeration products.
Prime mover to accelerate U.S. participation in the development of international standards to avoid European Standards, as a result of EC 92, from becoming defacto international standards.
Directed the harmonization of U.S./Canadian safety standards for air-conditioning and heating equipment for the first ever combined U.S./Candian Standard.
Directed the development of and modification of approximately 60 standards and guidelines for the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry.
Administer and direct the development of and modification of twenty product performance certification programs which assure the buying public honest product performance claims for air-conditioning and refrigeration products.
As a consultant, directed the development of European product performance certification programs for EUROVENT, a federation of European air-conditioner manufacturer’s associations. These programs began in Europe in 1993.
